I have been teaching maths for 10 years in a secondary school and have tutored privately for 6 years. I love teaching maths, but most importantly I love supporting students and having good relationships to help them succeed. To help you do this, I will identify where your gaps are in maths. I can advise what we can do together to help you improve your technique and understand to help you meet your goal. My style of teaching is supportive, providing a positive learning environment and encouraging a good student teacher relationship to help build student confidence. Students make the best progress when they have a good relationship with their teacher and the teacher knows their strengths and weaknesses to support them.
I can confidently use a range of different strategies to support different learning styles from diagrams to more abstract styles if that is your preferred learning style. If you are struggling with one explanation, I can provide a different method to help you understand. I can show guide you to what you need to do to do well in exams, with a range of strategies to help you perform better in exams. I can also provide homework for you should that be needed. I will provide regular feedback to help you understand what you need to do to make good progress. I am flexible in working hours to provide tutoring. Hours can be discussed to meet demand.
