About me
I'm a South African writer and filmmaker with a strong academic foundation: an undergrad from King’s College London (then ranked Europe’s top Film Studies course), a Master’s in Filmmaking, and a distinction in the IB. I'm a South African writer and filmmaker with a strong academic foundation: an undergrad from King’s College London (then ranked Europe’s top Film Studies course), a Master’s in Filmmaking, and a distinction in the IB. English is my native language, but growing up in France made me almost bilingual — and I achieved the highest IGCSE French grade in South Africa!
I love the challenge of working closely with a student to re-approach a topic they aren't feeling confident with, using a brand new approach.
Whether it's French Grammar, a Sylvia Plath poem or Weimar painting techniques I use clear visual diagrams, real-world examples and customised exercises to help this knowledge stick and get pupils excited in their subject.
I believe the key to success in my film career has been a combination of the skills I honed especially in English Literature and Art at school, and I am so driven to help a new generation get the best out of these key subjects.
I love working with GCSE, A-Level, IB, Scottish Highers /Nat 5 students with: * Revising French Grammar & Spelling and expanding Vocab during practice conversations and refining pronunciation. * Helping English Literature students to more effectively analyse novels, plays and poems. * Present ideas and structuring persuasive Art or Humanities essays to Russel Group University standards. I also offer expert support in Film Studies and Production- from theory and history to scriptwriting, budgeting, editing, camera work etc.
