I look to tailor lessons to the individual needs and motivations of the student. Whether it's a lesson made up of one core focus area, or it's made up of multiple sections, I believe that each learner is unique. I use my calm, supportive manner, alongside empathy and humour to engage my students and make them feel at ease. Equally, my years of experience in teaching and coaching, alongside being a father of 2 girls, means I am able to motivate and gently push you on to fulfil your potential. In terms of resources, I can make bespoke resources to suit the learners' specific needs and ensuring we are meeting the criteria of the assessment they are preparing for. Generally speaking, I find that the majority of students enjoy an opening activity to engage them in the relevant subject area. We then would focus on a core skill needed and complete a 'main task' which develops this skill. I look to incorporate creative tasks throughout lessons, and conclude with a summary of the key areas we have focused on. It is important that all lessons allow learners to have a voice and express their feelings about their progress. I will continue to adapt my lessons to the preferences of each learner so they maximise the effectiveness of each tutoring session.
