Jack Ledger-Dowse

Jack Ledger-Dowse is a music tutor who prioritises clear musical understanding and practical technique, helping students make consistent, measurable progress. His lessons focus on demystifying music across areas such as music theory, composition and academic exam preparation, building strong technical foundations through clear explanation and regular practical application. Sessions are structured and tailored to individual goals, often combining focused technical work, analysis and creative application.

Jack is an established professional composer working across concert, film and television, and a First Class Honours graduate of the Royal College of Music. He collaborates regularly on concert works with publishers Matonizz and Fennell Production, has worked as an orchestrator on major media projects such as the ITV drama Grace, and writes production music for UK and US television. This ongoing professional activity helps keep lessons connected to real musical practice as well as exam requirements.

Jack works with GCSE and A-Level students, ABRSM theory candidates, developing composers and adult learners. His students have progressed to leading UK universities and conservatoires, achieving excellent results in ABRSM Music Theory, GCSE and A-Level Music, composition portfolios and entrance preparation.
