I usually ask students which topics they are struggling on at the moment and we would go through that topic in the lesson. If the student does not have any particular topic in mind they want to do, then I will already have other lessons I have prepared that we can go through one by one. First, I will show the student a step by step method and then I will be giving them a set of questions to do by themselves and once they are done, we will be going through the questions together to see if the student has had any difficulties.
