Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to share a glimpse into what a typical mathematics lesson with me will be like. My goal is to make complex concepts clear, engaging, and, dare I say, enjoyable!

What to Expect: Lesson Format

My lessons are designed to be interactive and supportive. I will typically start with a clear introduction to the day’s topic, breaking down ideas into manageable steps. I use a blend of visual aids i.e. whiteboards, PowerPoint, and even interactive software like MATLAB or Python - to illustrate concepts and solve problems together. We willl work through examples, together and individually to ensure everyone has a chance to grasp the material.

Content and Dynamics: Beyond the Textbook

While we will cover all essential curriculum content, the lessons will go beyond just memorisation. I encourage critical thinking and problem-solving, often posing real-world scenarios to show the practical application of mathematics. You will have opportunities for hands-on practice, collaborative exercises, and discussions. I believe in a supportive environment where questions are always welcome, and mistakes are seen as learning opportunities. We will also leverage online platforms for resources, practice, and continued support outside of our scheduled sessions (if required).

My Experience: Guiding Your Success

With over eight years as a university lecturer in mathematics, I have had the privilege of guiding hundreds of students through challenging topics, from foundational concepts to advanced applied mathematics. I hold a PhD in Applied Mathematics and have a passion for simplifying complex problems. My experience has taught me how to adapt to different learning styles and provide individualised support to help every student succeed. I’m here to mentor you, build your confidence, and equip you with the skills to excel in mathematics.
