My online maths lessons are designed to be calm, supportive, and engaging, helping each child feel comfortable and confident as they learn. I’m a Teaching Assistant working in a Year 4 class, where I plan and deliver maths sessions daily, so my tutoring reflects what children are learning in school but with a more personalised approach.

Lessons are delivered one-to-one online using interactive tools such as screen sharing, visual models, and practice questions to keep children involved and focused. Sessions are usually 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the child, and are adapted to suit their pace and level.

Each lesson is tailored to the individual, whether they need help strengthening key maths skills, keeping up with schoolwork, preparing for SATs, or building confidence in problem-solving. I use a patient and encouraging approach, breaking learning down into manageable steps and explaining things in different ways until it clicks.

Building confidence is a big part of my sessions. I aim to create a positive space where children feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, helping them become more independent and less anxious about maths over time.
