I begin by identifying your current strengths and areas for improvement, so I can adapt each session to suit your learning style and priorities—whether that’s improving speaking fluency, grammar accuracy, reading comprehension, or writing skills.

Each lesson typically includes a balanced mix of speaking practice, vocabulary building, and grammar in context, so you’re not just learning rules but actually using the language in real-life situations. I place a strong emphasis on conversation, as I believe active use of the language is the fastest way to build confidence and fluency. For students who need it, I also provide structured grammar explanations and targeted exercises to reinforce understanding.

My teaching style is supportive and patient, and I aim to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident making mistakes and learning from them. I also incorporate regular feedback so you can clearly see your progress and understand what to focus on next.

In terms of experience, I have achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Russian and an A* in A-Level Russian, and I have worked with both children and adults. This has helped me develop a flexible approach, as I adjust my methods depending on age, ability, and learning preferences. Having learned Russian as a foreign language myself, I understand the challenges students face and can explain concepts in a clear and relatable way.
