I have worked as a Department Specific Coach for upholding professional communication standards at Amazon, and trained peers and juniors on learning and exercising appropriate English skills for delivering on their everyday job duties. I have handled multiple batches of associates, usually headcounts of 15 per batch, and helped them achieve business level proficiency in English as a second and/or foreign language.
Besides my professional role, I have engaged privately in helping underprivileged children learn English as a foreign language, in parts of South Asia and contributed to their educational growth. My method of learning about my students and teaching them largely depends on conversations, expressions and interactive communication. With this approach, I get to learn about my students, their level of understanding, their mindset, and their overall approach towards learning. I then tailor my methods of teaching and communicating to align and match the level of my students.
The content I engage is age and job specific, which makes my approach engaging and interactive. I include business scenarios when talking to professionals, real life scenarios when I am handling teenage students and young adults, and children-appropriate examples when I am engaging with kids under the age of 12. As a professional who loves to be a private tutor out of my own volition, my method of teaching is to largely let the students have fun and immerse themselves in learning, which makes their experience memorable, and my job exciting. I go the extra distance to impart knowledge if my students come with special & sensitive conditions and disabilities, as it's important to make everyone feel included irrespective of their barriers in life.
