My lessons are highly structured, specification-led and tailored to each student's individual strengths and areas for improvement. Every topic is taught with direct reference to the exam-board specification, ensuring that students develop both a strong theoretical understanding and the ability to apply knowledge effectively in examinations.
A typical lesson combines concise teaching, active discussion and exam-focused practice. I utilise formulaic flow-chart frameworks to help students structure analytical and evaluative arguments, making it easier to tackle both 15 and 25-mark essays with confidence. Students are also exposed to A* standard essay responses, examiner expectations and common pitfalls, allowing them to understand exactly what separates top-performing candidates from the rest.
A strong emphasis is placed on diagram analysis and application. Rather than simply memorising diagrams, students learn how to interpret, adapt and integrate them into their written responses to maximise marks. Lessons also incorporate dedicated case-study examples and current economic events, helping students develop the contextual knowledge required for higher-level analysis and evaluation.
Alongside content mastery, I focus heavily on examination technique. Students regularly work through data-response questions, essay plans and timed exam questions, receiving detailed feedback on how to improve their chains of reasoning, evaluation and written communication.
As an Economics undergraduate at Queen Mary University of London, achieving 94% in Microeconomics and 85% in Macroeconomics, I bring both academic expertise and tutoring experience to every lesson. My goal is not only to improve grades but to help students develop a genuine understanding of Economics and the confidence to excel independently.
