- My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs and syllabus, ensuring that every session is focused, effective, and relevant. I begin by identifying the student’s strengths and areas for improvement, then build a structured plan to help them progress with confidence.
- Lessons typically include close analysis of texts, guided discussion, and support with essay writing and exam technique. I break down complex ideas into clear, manageable concepts, helping students develop strong analytical skills and a deeper understanding of literature.
- I aim to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their own interpretations. With a strong passion for literature and teaching, I am committed to helping students improve both their skills and their confidence!
In addition, I adapt my teaching approach to suit learning styles, whether that involves visual aids, structured plans, or more discussion-based sessions. I also focus on building strong exam strategies, including how to plan essays effectively, manage time in exams; and understand what examiners are looking for. Regular feedback is provided so students can clearly see their progress and continue their progress over time.
- I also encourage students to develop independent study habits and critical thinking skills that will benefit beyond their exams. Where appropriate, I provide additional resources and optional tasks to reinforce learning between sessions. My goal is not only to improve grades, but to help students build lasting confidence and a genuine appreciation for literature!
