One of my many successful methods of teaching includes sitting down with the pupil and going through their weaknesses. Afterwards our goal would be for their weaknesses to become their strength. And by getting to that stage, we’d go through a lot of memorising techniques, which includes flash cards, quizzing, testing. Whilst we’re doing that, another method that I found really significant is for the pupil to teach me what they’re learnt. How that works is, after I explained something to them, now without them looking anywhere they’ll have to teach me what they have just learnt. Which is a significant way of them picking things up much quicker and memorising mathematical formulas.
These might seem like simple techniques, however, the tutor makes even more of an impact, on the way their active, supportive and helpful with the pupil, which I can confirm I have all of the above.
Someone could have the best teaching methods but if a tutor is not willing to put 100% effort in for the child to reach their maximum potential, then those teaching methods are useless.
