My lessons are designed to be engaging, structured and fully tailored to each student’s individual needs, ability and goals. I believe that effective tutoring is not simply about giving students answers, but helping them understand the reasoning behind each step so they can become more confident and independent learners.

At the beginning of lessons, I like to identify the student’s strengths and areas for improvement. From there, I adapt the lesson content and pace accordingly. Depending on the student’s needs, lessons can involve explaining new topics, revisiting difficult concepts, working through examples together, completing exam-style questions, reviewing homework, correcting mistakes and developing effective exam techniques.

For Maths and Science, I place a strong emphasis on practising questions after explaining the underlying concept. I encourage students to attempt questions themselves while providing guidance when necessary. If a student makes a mistake, I use it as an opportunity to explain where they went wrong and how they can avoid making the same mistake in the future. This helps develop both accuracy and confidence.

I also understand that every student learns differently. Some students may benefit from detailed explanations and worked examples, while others may learn better through discussion, practice and repetition. I therefore adjust my teaching style rather than expecting every student to learn in exactly the same way.

I have experience tutoring Maths and Science and have worked with students of different abilities. I aim to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions and are not afraid of making mistakes. My goal is to make lessons productive without making them unnecessarily stressful.

Whether a student is struggling with a particular topic, preparing for upcoming exams, trying to improve their grades or simply looking to strengthen their understanding, I can provide lessons focused specifically on what they need. I am also happy to work alongside the student’s school curriculum and use their current topics, homework and exam board requirements to ensure the tutoring is relevant.

Ultimately, I want every student to leave a lesson feeling that they understand something better than they did before and have the confidence to tackle similar questions independently.
