I have a variety of Early years, such as Montessori nursey, pre-school, Reception, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2 teaching experiences from my college and university courses. I am currently a supply teacher who teachers primary aged children (4-11 years).
Importantly, I have been doing tutoring for a few months with Action Tutoring and Boosting Reading Program (BRP). First of all, I did Action Tutoring with year 6 children and focused on planning a starter activity by including a word that pupil will be exposed to from the text, then writing a definition, synonyms, antonyms and a sentence using the word. Each session, we look into a text then explain by giving a summary to answer questions concerning the paragraph that needs to be looked at from the English booklet regarding the text. This supports learners' understanding of the content and language acquisition as well as word recognition. Also, during my BRP volunteering experience, I was doing one to one reading and monitor reading progress through BRP as well as writing a positive and area of development comment in pupil’s reading record and reading tracker sheet. Also, I have been undertaking small group activities supports pupils’ handwriting and reading comprehension skills with children with Special Educational Needs. Moreover, my teaching methods are giving differentiated instructions, collaborative learning, explicit teaching, so adapting teaching style according to each student's needs.
In addition, the qualities that I have are being enthusiastic, determined, empathic, resilient and motivated person who ensure to face and overcome challenges to best support the students I would teach.
