I am an experienced Mathematics tutor and professional Mechanical Engineer with an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Warwick. I have over five years of tutoring experience, supporting more than 60 students across GCSE, A-Level, Further Mathematics and university-level Mathematics.
My lessons are structured around the individual student. I begin by identifying their current level, academic goals and any gaps in their mathematical understanding. From there, I develop lessons that strengthen their core knowledge while progressively introducing more challenging questions.
A typical lesson combines clear explanations, worked examples, independent practice and exam-style questions. Rather than simply showing students how to obtain an answer, I use targeted questioning to encourage them to explain their reasoning and develop the confidence to solve unfamiliar problems independently.
For examination students, I place particular emphasis on exam technique, problem-solving and past-paper practice. Students learn how to interpret questions, select appropriate methods, present their working clearly and avoid common mistakes that can cost valuable marks.
I have supported students in achieving excellent results, including Grades 8–9 at GCSE and A/A at A-Level*. One of my recent GCSE students achieved a Grade 9 in Mathematics, while students I have supported at A-Level have achieved A and A* grades.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging and adaptable. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, while also challenging them to reach increasingly higher standards.
Whether a student is struggling with Maths, looking to improve their current grade, or already performing strongly and aiming for a Grade 8/9 or A/A*, my aim is to provide structured and personalised support that develops both exam performance and genuine mathematical confidence.
