Ifunanya Onaga

My lessons are always built around the student. I start every session by understanding where a learner is — what they find difficult, how they best absorb information, and what’s holding them back — then I shape the lesson around that. No two students are the same, and I never treat them as if they are.

My background spans tutoring, science demonstration, and teaching young children. As a volunteer tutor at James Hope College, I coached students one-to-one and in small groups in English and the Sciences. One of my tutees went on to win a Cambridge IGCSE Top in the World award. I know what focused, personalised support can unlock in a student.

As a Science Demonstrator, I regularly took complex ideas and made them visual, memorable, and genuinely exciting — a skill I bring directly into tutoring sessions. I believe a student who understands why something works will always outperform one who has simply memorised it.
I’m a Cambridge IGCSE Top in the World award-winner myself, with a 3.98 GPA and a Valedictorian distinction, currently studying BSc Cosmetic Science at UAL London College of Fashion. I know what academic excellence requires, and I know how to help others reach it.

Sessions can be structured or exploratory depending on what the student needs — homework support, exam preparation, confidence-building, or all three. I’m patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in every learner’s progress.
