A lesson is usually 1-2 hours, but my timings are flexible, as i tend to work around my student's schedule. I aim to understand my student's capabilities and work in a way that best suits them, in order to achieve their full potential. Over the years, I have learnt that students work in different ways, and us, as tutors need to find a method best suited to them. Tutoring for the past 5 years has taught me how to plan and structure my lessons to fit my student's learning methods - whether it be taking breaks or watching related videos to gain the student's interest in the topic which we are studying. I have worked with SEND students before in a private institution, which has broadened my methods of teaching. Not only has it developed my teaching skills, but it has highlighted how patience and understanding is a key element of teaching and helping students progress. I understand that some students are more visual learners, hence I provide visual content to aid them in their learning. I have come across students who struggle to focus and pay attention, to combat this, I take a break midway to play a maths related game, to re-engage the students in their learning. My main goal is to help students reach their full potential and not only excel in their academics, but whatever they aim to pursue in the future. I hope to have a positive impact on my students' education, which they can carry with them in their future.
