Hello, I'm Ian, a fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) with 24 years of teaching and coaching experience. Throughout my career I have helped hundreds of learners build confidence, overcome challenges and develop the knowledge and skills needed to achieve their goals.

My teaching style is patient, supportive and tailored to the individual. I understand that everyone learns differently, which is why I adapt each lesson to suit your experience, confidence level and preferred learning style. Whether you are preparing for your driving theory test, improving your hazard perception skills, building confidence as a learner driver or preparing for your practical driving test, lessons are designed around your specific needs.

I have extensive experience working with nervous learners, those returning to driving after a long break and students who benefit from a calm and structured approach. My aim is to create a relaxed learning environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and progressing at a pace that suits you.

Rather than relying on memorisation alone, I focus on helping students understand the reasons behind what they are learning. By breaking complex topics down into simple, practical steps, I help learners develop confidence, improve decision-making and gain a deeper understanding of safe driving principles.

I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate and have spent over two decades working in a trusted one-to-one teaching role. My goal is not only to help students pass their tests but also to build lasting confidence and skills that will benefit them long after the lesson has ended.
