Hi! I am a sixth form student currently studying Chemistry, Biology and Sociology. I can teach secondary level or primary school students. My teaching includes going over content and demonstrating the content visually on a whiteboard as I find that splitting the work and showing visual representations are easier to follow and understand. This is what works for me the best as a student myself as it makes memorising the information much easier and simple. However, I am open to trying out other teaching styles my student may prefer to suit their individual needs during the lesson! I would also try to make the students put in to practise what they have learnt using past paper exam questions. Through this, we can find the weaker areas in their knowledge which we can go over and put more time in over the lessons. Exam questions are also a good method of revision as it requires students to actively recall content until it becomes second nature to them. This makes it easier for students to respond to questions during the real exams as they would have built an understanding on how to answer similar questions. From my experience of tutoring my siblings, I find that patience is an important part of tutoring. If my siblings struggled to answer a question after going through the content for it, I do let them know that it is okay to be incorrect so that they do not feel discouraged when learning. I will then regularly test them on these weaker areas from time to time to ensure that they remember what they have learnt and are not still stuck. During lessons, I will not be showing my face and there is no need for my students to show theirs either, so more focus is put into the lessons.
