I often start with a basic test of my students knowledge to get an understadning of their stong and weak points. Once these have been identified, I can tailor the lesson to focus more on the material they struggle with to hit those top marks.
Generally, I would find out exactly the content the student will be tested on, and then work through with them on materials they stuggle with or haven't covered for the exam, ensuring they are fully equiped with the knowledge and well prepared for the exams! I have been teaching young students alongside my years at school and now that I have finished university, I have a broader understanding in knowledge and also more time to be able to help those struggling or who just need that little bit of extra support.
I always start off by undersatdnign my students current position in his studies and give them a little quiz or test. Then I would know exectly what needs to be covered and prepare lessons accordingly and give the student the knowledge they actually require rather than repeating what they already kniw and wasting their time. Sometimes, I find it is useful to go over the stuff a student may think they know, as they may have not understood the basics correctly which then impacts the more advance material which they end up struggling with.
I am a firm believer that everyone had the capacity and ability to excel in their studies, but not everyone follows a standardised teaching style which is what schools lack in. Join me today and we can work as a team to help you acheive your goals.
