As a motivated undergraduate student, I am aware that the common teaching techniques are not beneficial to certain individuals. I aim to discover and apply different learning techniques in order for a student to achieve their desired outcome. Inside of steady paced lessons, students will be able to ask me as many questions as they would like, so that they receive the best understanding. Sessions will be planned on specific topics that the student finds difficulty with. Exam style questions can be provided, which we can work on together in order to discover any specific gaps in knowledge. Extra time can be spent on particularly challenging topics to ensure full understanding on the more difficult questions in an exam situation. My experience in sports leadership courses gave me the ability to understand and learn multiple learning techniques, which are dependent on a child’s varying behavioural needs and any learning difficulties. Sessions will be improved to be engaging, ensuring students maintain focus. I will provide learning resources and guidance on where helpful information can be found. I can also provide guidance for revision techniques, in the chosen subject and others. Personal revision is heavily encouraged, so that students can come to a session with questions that I can help with. The pace of the session is dependent on the student; no student will be rushed through a topic and extra time can be spent for areas that need improvement. I aim to provide a beneficial and engaging session, in order to help a student progress towards their desirable outcome.
