My first lesson is typically getting to know the student; what they know does or does not work for them, what assignments or exams they have coming up and what their main difficulties are. After this, I build a plan to help the student as efficiently as possible. As some students cannot afford constant tutoring for a more extended period, I make these plans as short as possible to help them as fast as I can, and if they need more help or help in other areas I can provide that as well. Some of the methods I am best acquainted with are repetition, i.e. writing things out until it fully clicks or is learned off, as well as colourful spider diagrams and similar revision methods, however, I can provide other methods based on the student's needs, and these are simply what work best for me personally. I am very calm and understanding with students, as I know what it is like to not get the grasp of things as quickly as others - there's a reason I don't tutor maths! I have tutored friends previously as well as helped them in revising for exams, and during school, I tutored some younger students. Within university, I also frequently assist students in their assignments and helping out with various university activities such as open days.
