Hi my name is Holly Edginton and I want to explain how my lessons would pan out and what you might get from them.

A typical contemporary art lesson with me would be structured yet flexible, allowing space for both guidance and creative exploration. Each session would begin with a short discussion to understand the student’s goals, interests, and current skill level. This helps me tailor the lesson to their individual needs, whether they are developing technical skills, exploring ideas, or working toward a specific project.

Lessons would usually start with a brief introduction to a contemporary artist, movement, or technique relevant to the session. This could include looking at reference images, discussing themes or concepts, and exploring how artists communicate ideas through materials and process. I believe this context is essential for helping students understand not just how to make art, but why they make it.

The main part of the lesson would focus on practical work. I would demonstrate techniques where needed, then guide the student as they experiment independently, offering feedback, encouragement, and constructive suggestions. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel confident to take creative risks and develop their own artistic voice.

Each lesson would end with a short reflection, reviewing progress and discussing what worked well and what could be developed further. I would also suggest optional tasks or ideas to explore between sessions. Overall, my lessons are designed to be engaging, thoughtful, and adaptable, helping students grow both technically and creatively.

I am here to support and help, I bring young fresh ideas to the table. Not only am I help you, you are helping me! I want to know about everyone’s passion and why, I am excited to meet some new creatives and share, help and learn.
