I have been a tutor for 3 years, tutoring students as young as 7, all the way through to 18 year olds doing their a levels. I have tutored a mix of abilities and supported students to achieve their goals. I use Microsoft teams for my 1 hour sessions and upload all resources and homework to google classroom. I have had lots of positive feedback from parents saying how the communication with them was good, they loved how patient I was with their child and how I took the time to get to know their child and how to best support their needs. I have a lot of experience with students with additional needs and disabilities. I also have done a lot of mentoring so I support students both academically and socially. We work together on academic skills, skills they can use in the classroom to take in more information and exam skills as well so that they can do their best they can. Students are set 1 small homework task each week which should take them no more than 45 minutes, this is often in the form of 5-10 questions based on the content we have covered in the session. I then mark this with them at the start of each session and log it on google classroom and at the end of each month parents get a summary of their child’s progress in terms of these scores. Sessions start with marking homework then a small starter task to see where they are at from last session then we get into the main teaching elements and then some practice questions which we mark and then there is a challenge question to finish and I upload all the notes and the homework to google classroom so they can see it’s there
