Hiro Harada

I have taught Japanese in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, China and the UK, in many different places and to people from all around the world. Teaching is my great passion and it is something that I enjoy very much. I still remember the day when one of my students, who was a complete beginner, won a speech contest at the beginning of my career as a Japanese teacher. I absolutely love teaching Japanese to young students in the UK! I have also taught Japanese to children of Japanese heritage, both at schools and privately. I have also given a crash course seminar on Japanese to athletes before their tour to Japan.

I take a variety of approaches, depending on the needs of the student. Children can have lots of fun and experience Japanese culture while learning the language. For beginner and intermediate students, I ensure that grammar is understood and practiced, and is followed by encouraging conversation in the context of each student's life and situation. I believe that applying what you have learned into speaking is very important! Advanced students who want to increase their vocabulary are encouraged to discuss topics of their own choice or those that I have prepared for them.
