My GCSE maths lessons are structured but relaxed- each session starts with a quick recap of the previous topic, followed by focused teaching on the area you need most help with, and ends with practice questions so you leave feeling confident, not just informed. I teach 1-to-1, either online or in person, and tailor every lesson to your exam board and the specific topics you're struggling with, whether that's algebra, geometry, trigonometry, or exam technique.
I've been tutoring GCSE maths for 4 years, working with students at every level- from those aiming to move up from a grade 4 to a 6, to those pushing for the top grades. My approach is patient and encouraging: I break problems down step by step, use plenty of past-paper questions to build exam confidence, and check understanding regularly rather than just moving through content. I also set light homework between sessions to keep progress steady.
I use a mix of worked examples, visual aids, and interactive whiteboard tools to make abstract concepts easier to grasp, especially for visual and hands-on learners. Before we start, I like to understand your current strengths and weaknesses through a short assessment, so lessons target exactly what you need rather than repeating things you already know. I also track progress across sessions and share regular feedback with parents, so everyone can see how things are developing over time. Scheduling is flexible to fit around school commitments and exam timetables.
Lessons are relaxed but focused- I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, even the ones that feel "obvious," because that's usually where the real understanding happens.
