My lessons will be person-centred and specific to the student's needs. I would be the ideal tutor for any GCSE or A-Level student seeking extra insight or ways into a particular literary text. I have a BA and an MA in English literature. I am a writer of fiction and I recently published my first novel called 'Myself am Hell'. I write literary fiction. I want to work as a tutor because I feel I can help students to look at literary texts with fresh eyes. I will take a creative and interactive approach that will enable me and my tutees to learn from one another as we progress.

I am passionate about poetry, fiction, and drama. I can open up the world of Shakespeare to students who might struggle with the language of the plays or their cultural context. I will encourage students to think creatively and questioningly. I believe young people can build a relationship with literary texts that will last their entire lives. I can help tutees prepare for their GCSE and A-Level English exams. I can also show them that writers like Shakespeare will provide them with so much intellectual and spiritual nourishment if they are prepared to open their minds and approach the texts as treasure troves of value rather than merely a test or exam or obstacle to get through.

I am not a traditional teacher with a teaching background.

I am passionate, creative, enthusiastic, and highly accomplished when it comes to this subject.
