I am a fully qualified teacher with extensive experience supporting children and young people of all abilities including those with special educational needs. In addition to my teaching background, I have worked as an Ofsted-registered nanny providing one-to-one care for children with additional needs. These experiences have strengthened my ability to tailor lessons and activities to each child’s personality, learning style and developmental stage while developing patience, empathy, adaptability and excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
My lessons are structured yet flexible, designed to be engaging, interactive and rewarding. I combine visual, verbal and practical methods to ensure students understand concepts and retain knowledge. Whether supporting literacy, numeracy or general study skills, my approach focuses on building confidence, independence, resilience and a genuine curiosity for learning alongside academic achievement.
Creating a safe, encouraging and positive environment is central to my teaching. I aim to build trust, motivate students to take pride in their progress, ask questions and embrace challenges. Positive reinforcement, regular feedback and strong, respectful relationships are the foundations of my sessions.
Ultimately, my goal as a tutor is to inspire curiosity, nurture a genuine love of learning and equip students with the skills and confidence they need to succeed. My nanny experience complements my teaching, allowing me to adapt quickly, be patient and provide highly personalised support, ensuring every child feels valued, understood, confident and ready to thrive academically, socially, emotionally and personally. My teaching style is adaptable, supportive, encouraging and creative, always designed to engage students and foster independent, confident, lifelong learners.
