Lessons typically take place on Zoom or Microsoft Teams and follow a consistent, supportive format. I use PowerPoint presentations to introduce and model key concepts, ensuring explanations are clear and visually accessible. Sessions are interactive rather than lecture-based, with regular discussion and questioning to check understanding and encourage learners to articulate their thinking.
I make frequent use of an online whiteboard to work through examples together, model writing, annotate texts, or practise language skills in real time. This allows lessons to feel collaborative and responsive, and learners can see ideas develop step by step. Activities are adapted to suit the learner’s age, ability and learning style, whether the focus is reading comprehension, writing skills, exam preparation or spoken English.
My teaching style is calm, encouraging and structured. I break learning into manageable steps, provide clear guidance, and offer constructive feedback throughout the session. Where appropriate, I set short follow-up tasks or provide resources after lessons to support independent practice.
I work with children, young people and adult learners, including those with additional support needs or who are learning English as an additional language. My approach is inclusive and confidence-building, and I aim to create a positive, supportive online learning environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace.
