My lessons are structured, engaging, and built around the belief that everyone can succeed in maths with the right support and approach.
Each lesson follows a clear format. We begin by reviewing prior knowledge so students feel confident and ready to learn. I then introduce new concepts in small, manageable steps, using clear explanations, visual models, and real-life examples to make abstract ideas meaningful. Guided practice comes next, where we work through problems together, before moving to independent practice that is carefully matched to the student’s level. Every lesson ends with reflection, consolidation, and targeted feedback so progress is visible and purposeful.
Lessons are highly interactive. I encourage students to explain their thinking, ask questions, and learn from mistakes in a safe, supportive environment. I adapt the pace and style to suit the learner, whether they need extra scaffolding, challenge, or confidence-building. Problem-solving, reasoning, and exam technique are woven into every session, not taught in isolation.
I bring extensive classroom and leadership experience across secondary and post-16 education, with a strong track record of improving outcomes and building confidence in learners of all abilities. I have taught across a wide range of curricula and exam boards, and I understand how to break down complex topics into clear, logical steps.
Above all, my lessons aim to make maths clear, confidence-building, and genuinely enjoyable.
