Hattie Carvill

I am an experienced primary teacher with a strong background in teaching Maths, English and Science across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide range of abilities and learning needs, and I really enjoy finding different ways to make tricky concepts click for every child.

My approach to tutoring is friendly, supportive and engaging. I believe children learn best when they feel relaxed, confident and involved in their learning, so I aim to make every session enjoyable as well as purposeful. I bring learning to life through clear explanations, interactive activities and plenty of encouragement along the way.

In Maths, I focus on building strong number sense and problem-solving skills. In English, I help children develop their reading comprehension, writing confidence and creativity. In Science, I encourage curiosity and exploration, helping children understand the world around them through simple, hands-on thinking and discussion.

I am patient, approachable and positive, and I take pride in creating a safe space where children feel comfortable to ask questions, make mistakes and grow from them. I tailor every session to the individual learner, making sure they are challenged in the right way and always feel successful.

My goal is not just to improve academic skills, but to help children feel proud of what they can do and excited about learning again.
