I teach by first covering any topics the student wishes to do. This can be both topics that they struggle with and want additional help with out of class or topics that they are yet to cover in class in order to get a head start. If there is no particular topic the student wants help with then we will cover a variety of past paper questions. This can include easier questions in order to improve accuracy or harder questions in order to improve abstract thinking skills required for higher grades.
I prefer to teach using a digital whiteboard as it's often the most effective way to explain my thinking process to students.
Outside of our lessons, i'm always happy to help if they need any quick questions answered.
I emphasise the importance of asking questions, if you don't ask for help when i'm failing to explain something clearly then I can't help you to learn it so please ask a question if you don't understand what i'm saying.
In terms of experience, I have recently completed the entire edexcel gcse maths specification while constantly working at a grade 9 level. In class I often found people asking me for help with topics or questions that they were struggling with and out of class I occasionally helped my friend work through past paper questions. Hence, I have experience helping people working from the grade range 6 all the way to 9. I've always found teaching people to be fun and so I hope to gain more experience on here.
