I have experience helping students deal with the stress and anxiety of day to day life, as well as helping cope with periods of depression.
Below is a typical plan for a one hour session I would use with a student who typically struggles with organisation and confidence around their school work. This lesson plan is an example of what to expect if you were to book in with me. The plan would be edited depending on the issues that the student is struggling with.
Introduction (10 minutes) -Begin the lesson by introducing myself and explaining the objectives of the lesson.
-Ask the student what they understand by the terms 'organisation' and 'confidence'.
-Explain to them that the lesson will focus on practical tips and techniques that will help them stay organised and feel more confident.
Organisation tips (20 minutes) -Discuss with the student the importance of being organised, and how it can help them in their daily lives.
Share some tips and techniques that they can use to stay organised, such as: -Creating to-do lists and prioritising tasks Using a calendar or planner to schedule their activities -Having a designated study area with all the necessary supplies -Breaking down large tasks into smaller, manageable ones -Ask the student to share their own tips and ideas for staying organised.
Confidence-building activities (25 minutes) -Explain to the student that confidence comes from believing in themselves and their abilities.
Share some activities that can help boost their confidence, such as: -Practicing positive self-talk -Setting achievable goals and celebrating their accomplishments -Taking on new challenges and learning new skills -Surrounding themselves with supportive and positive people -Conduct a few confidence-building exercises with the student, such as role-playing or giving compliments to each other.
Conclusion (5 minutes) -Recap the main points of the lesson and ask the student if they have any questions or feedback.
-Provide them with some resources, such as printable to-do lists or goal-setting worksheets, that they can use to stay organised and build their confidence.
-Encourage them to practice the tips and techniques discussed in the lesson and wish them well.
Overall, this lesson is designed to be interactive, engaging, and practical, with the aim of providing student with tools and strategies they can use to stay organised and confident in their daily lives.
