I use a logic-first approach to teaching mathematics.
I am more concerned with making sure my student understand maths problems and what logical reasoning they can use to solve problems.
ex. everyone knows that algebraic equations come up all throughout the GCSE Maths papers and they take many forms, but something a lot of students get stuck on is simultaneous equations. My approach to teaching this topic is to get students involved with the problem and to work through each stage logically, making sure they understand as we go along.
That's what students often miss out on in the original teaching experiences at high school - but maybe for a young person it's not simultaneous equations, its equations of a line. Or maybe its probability, or fractions, or trigonometry. Whatever topics are posing problems, I am dedicated to helping young people solve through them as much as I can.
