I deliver criminology tutoring and student life coaching online. Sessions are built around your learning needs and will be supportive of your goals.

Since 2015 I have taught and designed a wide range of criminology and social science methods modules, spanning every level of study.

I’m happy to provide teaching based sessions around criminological concepts, theories and developing understanding of learning materials, along with assessment related advice.

I have marked thousands of essays, case studies and exams, and have supervised over 150 dissertation research projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with many of my students being awarded first class grades and dissertation prizes.

I’ve also been a personal tutor for hundreds of university students since 2015. I have supported students from all backgrounds and regularly work with students who have different learning requirements and learning styles, for example related to ADHD and dyslexia.

I can provide life coaching to support your studies, especially where balancing other commitments such as work and childcare.

Within my role as an external examiner for criminology programmes in Scotland, I’ve also overseen assessment and module design, and provide quality assurance around marking consistency. This means I have a wealth of knowledge around what is expected for successful university level study.

I’m a passionate and approachable teacher, and encourage asking lots of questions (which is an important skill to develop in itself!). I explain things simply and clearly, and I’ve won several student nominated awards for excellence in teaching and learning.

My qualifications include a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (distinction), a dual honours degree in Criminology and Law (first class), an MA degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice (distinction), and a PhD in Criminology.

I’m originally from a small village on the North Yorkshire/Lancashire border (meaning I’m friendly with a strong accent!) and am now based in the Midlands.

I offer online tutoring or coaching sessions from 30 to 90 minutes.
