My method of teaching is always fun and informative! My passion for learning is easily shared with whoever I am teaching. Learning should be something all kids (and adults) want to do. With me, it isn't a chore and actually becomes quite rewarding. I have been an educator since 2016, starting out in preschool level teaching. Most of my career was spent as a certified nanny, and a lot of times the child and I would end up creating our own little "school". I would give lessons on academics, behavior, potty-training, etc. The mothers' of the children I nannied were always pleasantly surprised after my time was up with their kid. Teaching has always been fun for me, and even when I wasn't paid for "teaching", I still found a way to do it.
When I am in my "teaching mode", I take myself back to my student self. I ask myself- what would I need as a child in order to understand this lesson? Then, I apply it in multiple forms towards my class. If I see there are still ones struggling, I offer different methods/ways of thinking until everyone is on the same page. Every child learns differently, and it is important to understand that and get to know your class. Some children are verbal learners, and need a metaphor, rhyme, or song to remember a lesson. Some are visual- and need pictures, words and books. Others are hands-on learners, where they will most benefit from a work-shop, drawing, or action-figures. It just depends on the individual, and as a teacher it is important to get your teaching and learning styles identified.
