I have a broad range of experience delivering art workshops in community settings and teaching in both secondary and higher education.

I was a lecturer and First Year Lead on the BA Textile Design course at the University of Central Lancashire. I taught modules which included creating surface pattern design using Adobe photoshop and Illustrator, a creative thinking module which introduced students to complex ideas relative to the world of art and design, and a drawing module which covered a broad range of abstract and figurative drawing.

I have a First Class Honours degree in Textiles in Practice and and HND in Fashion Textiles, my area of expertise is embroidery and quilting.
Having worked in a secondary school in Manchester, I worked in small groups with GCSE (Nat 5 Level) Textiles students in order to diversify their portfolios, with a keen focus on drawing and stitching methods.

In addition to this, I have experience of delivering after school art clubs to primary school children from the ages of 4-8. With this I managed a class of 20 children, encouraging them to express themselves and teaching them new techniques that were appropriate for their ability.

I am an advocate for inclusivity within the arts and have a non-judgemental approach. I believe the arts are an excellent way to express yourself without words and believe that everyone should have the right to learn.

Whether you are looking to improve your skills on a recreational basis, or are needing that little extra help with your National 5, Scottish Higher, or higher education coursework, I’m here to assist. I tailor the learning content based on individuals’ needs and abilities, including creating video tutorials which you can revisit whenever you need to touch up your skills.
