I’ve been tutoring for around 3 years, having only sat my GCSES 5 years ago. I’m familiar with both AQA and Edexcel exam boards, including the content that’s required from them. For students in year 10-11, I mainly focus on breaking down language paper 1 for them, question by question, and teach them relevant structures in order to be able to answer well. I’m able to mark and return work or exam papers in a timely manner, with constructive and detailed feedback on where the student went wrong; where the student can improve; and what they did well. I’d also sat English at A level, so I’m
also able to pass on my knowledge from the AQA English literature board, including how to memorise content from selected texts, and how to structure a sophisticated exam level answer. I currently also study English at university as further evidence of my competence, so I’m also happy to advise students on pathways into English should they be interested. I’m very passionate about the subject, and above all I’m passionate about my students getting good results. Should you choose me, I will use every method possible to ensure you get the highest possible grades. I normally walk you through the exam paper first, then will have you respond to a selected question. I’ll be able to mark it in session, to gauge the level you’re working at, and then give you feedback should it be necessary. Students also tend to prefer being given a full exam paper so that they’re given a whole mark and grade at the end.
