Usually I like to try get to know my students first, so I know what way of learning matches them and what level of english knowledge they have.
For students who know a very small amount of english I like to use pictures/videos to represent words or situations. For my little cousins I used to make work-sheets in english and they've been doing great in their classes, since I've helped them.
And for those who already can speak english but might have problems with their grammar, I go by the ways that I've been thaught from books in the past years, I mean unfortunately there isn't really any other efficient way to do that.
For those who just want to improve their english conversation-skills, I like to talk and research about impotrant themes of everyday life so I can talk with them about it and expend their vocabulary, also make them more confident while speaking english with others!
