My lessons are focused on helping students build a clear understanding of Maths while developing the skills needed to succeed in exams. I keep explanations simple and structured, breaking topics down step by step so students feel confident with the fundamentals before moving on to more challenging questions.
A typical lesson involves working through key concepts, followed by guided practice where we solve exam-style questions together. I then gradually reduce support, encouraging students to attempt problems independently so they can apply what they’ve learned. This helps build both confidence and problem-solving ability.
I place a strong emphasis on exam technique, including how to interpret questions, structure answers, and avoid common mistakes. We regularly use past paper questions to ensure students are familiar with the style and difficulty of real exams.
I tailor each lesson to the student’s needs, focusing on weaker areas while continuing to reinforce strengths. Progress is tracked over time by revisiting topics and increasing the level of difficulty, ensuring consistent improvement.
I have experience supporting students across GCSE and A Level Maths, including Edexcel, AQA, and OCR. My approach is supportive but challenging, helping students move beyond basic understanding and reach their target grades.
I also aim to create a comfortable environment where students feel able to ask questions and learn from mistakes. Building confidence is a key part of my approach, as this often leads to better performance and a more positive attitude towards Maths overall. This helps students stay motivated and engaged throughout their learning.
