Grace Mcevinney

I'm a young private tutor proficient in languages, the arts, English, and Literature studies. My teaching experience is short, with work experience mainly at primary schools in Scotland. I have a passionate attitude and approach to teaching. I believe that every child is different, and so to the approach to learning for each child is different. I aim to understand each student before beginning teaching, the first session is usually a meet and greet, and a way for me to gather as much information about the students as I can, then I tailor my teaching to them (eg. What areas they require the most focus on, what specific textbooks or websites their using most ect). It's not much of a method, but it creates the best and most stable working environment for the student that then allows them to flourish, especially when the student feels comfortable and safe around you. As the student progresses through their learning, the work will ramp up and intensify to make sure they keep fully on top of their studies as I know there's a tendency to slack once you've learnt something once. But if at any point, for any reason, the work load needs to decrease or stop entirely, then I am more than happy to step back until you feel comfortable enough to come back.
