I have been teaching Maths online and in person for over 6 years. Working with students from KS1 to A Level, I have experience teaching all ages but specialise in KS3/GCSE tuition. I have also taught Functional Skills Maths, including to adult learners. I have completed both volunteer work as a tutor and work experience in primary and secondary schools. Working at a local tuition centre, I have had the opportunity to teach small groups as well as 1-to-1. I prefer to use a “learn as you go” approach, engaging my students with questions and problem solving activities rather than simply dictating information. The best way to improve your Maths is to do Maths! I also believe it can be helpful for students to know the “why” as well as the “how”. Memorising methods is useful, but to truly succeed in the subject it is important to understand why the methods work. I understand many learners find Maths boring, confusing, or challenging. I am here to change that, sharing my love for the subject through a positive, friendly approach to teaching and adapting my lessons to each student’s unique learning style to maximise progress.
