I am a dynamic teacher, and tailor my lessons to each students' learning style and needs. I am a great believer in learning by doing, so I centre my lessons around practical application of grammar and vocabulary. I do not believe in passively reading through longwinded grammar explanations, so, as far as possible, I get my students to consolidate their understanding using exercises that stretch and challenge them. I believe that grammatical principles and structures are much easier to pick up once they are contextualised. As a linguist myself, I recognise that a lack of confidence can largely hinder students' progress, so my chief concern is for my students to feel comfortable, happy and encouraged. I feel if my students are in the best mindset to learn, they will be able to get the most out of my lessons. I always endeavour to stretch my students, and take them out of their comfort zone so that they can grow in confidence and rather than fearing making mistakes, can learn from them, and ultimately gain a much firmer grasp on the language as a result.
