I am passionate about teaching languages and helping people understand my native language. The method I will use is language transfer- a linguistic strategy where a speaker uses grammatical, lexical, phonological, or semantic features from their first language (L1) when speaking or writing in a second language (L2). We will look at your native language and see the linguistic similarities with it to English, therefore enhancing your brains ability to remember words and construct sentences e.g. if you are Italian I would say the word volare in English means 'to want' think about the word volunteer we want to do something, we want to help. I will tailor make every lesson via powerpoint for each persons' language needs ranging from beginner to advanced. Through this method I helped a Tamil speaker who had been living in Italy learn English, I would like to further explore this method and refine the methods I use. Furthermore, I will also give you tests that we will go through as testing regularly will improve your ability to recall words in English, we will go through the answers together and I will repeat these quizzes until you get 100% of the answers correct. If you are B2 or above in English but want to become native level we will use a similar technique called the Latin method, where we will use Latin to help improve your recall and retention of complex English words as well as exploring more in depth topics such as politics, history, or science.
