The most important thing I foreground in lessons is confidence building. I am a sympathetic teacher, and I respect and am good at detecting and supporting each individual's needs. I have mentored adults with personal practices, and students working within a curriculum, such as for A-level or BA. I am serious about how art can sustain us for a lifetime of pleasure, curiosity and learning and I have forty years experience as an artist, teacher and mentor. my practice as a teacher is up to date and contemporary, whist grounded in a love of rigorous, traditional, hand-to-eye training, in painting and drawing.
