As a young person I can understand how daunting it can be learning something new. Because of this I will provide engaging lessons with activities which will give you a firm grip on the English language without being “boring”.
These activities will include: - writing exercises based around areas of interest - flash cards/ photo cards (particularly for younger students) - grammar lessons - mock conversations/interviews in order to help you use the language you are learning in day to day life. - homework which will include reading pieces of text and answering questions, watching English TV shows/films and writing a summary of said show and much more untraditional pieces of homework to make learning fun! - spelling and grammar tests every 2 weeks with words and sentences that you will use in you every day life.
As of right now I do not hold any professional teaching qualifications but I did achieve A grades in both English exams in GCSE, I’m also an avid reader and I am currently studying marine biology at university. Despite holding no teaching qualifications, in high school I gave up my break and lunch times to sit in the library with the younger students to help them improve their English. I also have experience working with children as I was a children’s party host from the age of 14-19. I also have 8 younger cousins who I took care of quite frequently so I understand how to communicate effectively with children.
During lockdown and the times of online schooling I helped one my younger cousins with his online school making sure he completed it and aiding with his tasks and understanding of his subjects.
