I'm a tutor with plenty of previous experience, based in Bristol but who spends her holidays in London. I'm happy both with in person and online teaching - and through the online format will happily accept students from anywhere in the UK.
As medical student, I have recent experience of sitting GCSEs, AS-Levels and A-Levels myself, and enjoy helping students do well at their turn! I sat twelve GCSEs, achieving 9x9s, 2x8s, and 1xA*, sat one AS-Level in French in which I achieved an A (the maximum grade), and achieved 3xA*s at A-Level in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. For this reason I'm happy tutoring Biology, Chemistry and Maths up to A-Level (my medical degree ensures I've retained all of this knowledge), French up to GCSE, and other GCSE subjects including Physics, English and Further Maths. I also have some experience teaching younger children - for example, I taught a year 6 class French for three months - so I am happy accepting younger students as well.
I can tutor students in the 11+ and 13+, and have sufficient experience to help students through university applications (especially medicine and related subjects). In terms of entry exams for university, I did very well in the UCAT with a score of 3160 band 1, so will happily help any prospective medical students with that very difficult exam.
My lessons can be tailored to the student - I am happy to go through the content with them in order (provided there's enough time), to go over what they've learnt in school that week, or to help them with anything they find particularly difficult. I typically spend part of the lesson explaining content and getting the student to explain it back to me to check they understand, and then we work through some questions or problems together. After that, I give them some questions to do themselves - either during the lesson if there's time, or to take away and complete - and we go through them together afterwards. I am open to feedback, and will always change my lessons if another format suits the student better!
