The lessons will be structed as the first 10 minutes will be a talk about what the lesson will consist of in terms of content and a starter question to gauge where the students level of understanding is of that content. I will use a whiteboard to write and explain any maths concepts, I will do a walk through practice question with the student then ask them to complete another question alone, we then work through any mistakes together. I will then ask them to do another question until they feel confident answering all questions of that topic. We will then move onto the next topic and repeat this process. I believe practice is the only way to learn maths as we learn through practice but if the student is completely unsure, I will explain the concepts first and show them how to do a practice question. I will ask the student prior to the lesson to give me a list of topics they are unsure of as well as any practice questions they were confused on, so I can tailor each of the sessions to their specific needs. I have tutored privately maths for over a year and am currently studying maths at university. I achieved an A in A-level maths and an 8 in GCSE maths. I am open to tutoring both A-level and GCSE as well as 11 plus maths. I offer online lessons at £30/hour. I can do lessons anyday between 12pm-8pm for one or two hours at a time.
