Every student can make progress when teaching is clear, supportive and designed around their individual needs. My lessons provide a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, overcoming difficulties and developing genuine confidence in their abilities.

With more than 30 years of experience in teaching, curriculum leadership, examining and private tuition, I offer expert support in Mathematics, Statistics, English Language, Functional Skills Maths and ICT. I teach learners from KS2 and 11+ through GCSE, A-Level, resits and adult education. As a National Examiner and qualified SEN specialist, I understand both what examiners expect and how to make challenging concepts accessible to learners with different needs.

Lessons begin with a brief review and a clear objective. I explain each topic step by step, using carefully chosen examples, targeted questions and guided practice. Students then apply their learning independently, allowing me to identify misconceptions, close knowledge gaps and provide immediate, constructive feedback. The pace and level of challenge are continually adapted to the student.

Depending on individual goals, lessons may include diagnostic assessment, curriculum support, exam-style questions, revision planning, study skills and examination techniques. I also help students develop precision reading, problem-solving skills and effective learning habits that extend beyond one subject or examination.

My approach is patient, encouraging and focused on measurable improvement. I do not simply provide answers; I help students understand the reasoning behind them and become confident, independent learners.
