About me

In the past I have used a range of resources to make my lessons unique, these include the use of step-by-step problems, videos, talking through real life scenarios and drawing on what worked well for others.
The bottom line is, everyone has a different view on maths and as a result, everyone understands it slightly differently, my job is to help you find the most effective way to understand maths...

The bottom line is, everyone has a different view on maths and as a result, everyone understands it slightly differently, my job is to help you find the most effective way to understand maths so that you aren’t just memorising a method or a result.
The lesson will start with a quick recap of what we previously looked at, including maybe a few quick problems to get warmed up, the individual would have the opportunity to ask any questions about last weeks topic or material they have covered in school.
We would then look at the main topic for the session, approaching it from many angles including real world examples, we build the knowledge slowly to cement understanding and never skip steps. I like to ask questions as I explain to make sure that the individual is following but also it is rewarding to the individual when they feel like they know the process. This will hopefully translate into the classroom.
After, we work together on problems, at this stage, I act only as a guide and am there to offer help if needed.
We conclude the session with some sort of summary and I’ll set a short number of problems to be completed before next time.
I am also available to contact by email or phone at if they have a question on school assigned homework’s or problems.

George helped me with my Maths GCSE, I had lessons with him for 6 months, at the start I was predicted a D but I was happy to get a B overall. The sessions were good as he didn’t just give me the answers but gave me clues so that I could get there myself
